Regular Activities

Activities listed below may vary from time to time, it is always best to ring in order to check details..

Community Day Centre

Open to access community news/information. Also a cafe providing simple affordable snack meals & lunches. Anyone can join us for a cuppa & a chat in a friendly, relaxed setting.

We also offer limited welfare support, help and advice.

Opening times: Tuesday to Saturday 10am-2pm (not Wednesday).

Parent & Toddlers

Sessions are held in the Buckland Community Centre, Roosevelt Road on Tuesdays from 10am to 12 noon. There is also a Health Visitor on hand at each session to provide additional support services, including baby weighing.

Children remain under parental control throughout, but there is a good opportunity to relax and meet new friends whilst the children play.

The cost is £1 per session, and includes refreshments (cuppa, biscuit, fruit etc). Although you do not have to pay this to access the Health Visitor services.

The group is supported by the District Children’s Centre Team and is one of the service providers within the new Buckland Children’s Centre.  The group is part funded by Children’s Centre funding.

After School Work

Affiliated to the KCC Youth Service, The White Cliffs Youth Association & Kent Youth, the after school work includes:

‘Drop-In’ sessions at the Cross-Links Centre for primary aged children from 3.15-5pm on Monday, Tuesday & Friday. We aim to provide an opportunity for the children to unwind after school and to interact together. We usually provide a soft drink and small snack.

‘Kids For Jesus’ (K4J)is a Christian club for children who would like to learn more about Jesus and get to know him. We meet on Thursday from 3.15-4.30 pm at the Cross-Links Centre.

All activities are free of charge, although a contribution of around 50p is welcome.

We do ask for a parental consent/registration form to be completed for children to join in.

Youth Cafe

This takes place at the Cross-Links Centre on Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings from 7pm to 9pm. The Cafe is open to young people in school year 7 and over. There is food on sale, games & chat on offer! PLEASE NOTE: the Youth Cafe is temporarily suspended we hope to resume in the summer

Day Trips & Family Outings

During some school holidays we organise Outings to local attractions. These outings have been very popular - where possible these activities are subsidised through grants.

Please see the Forthcoming Events/Diary webpage or our monthly Newsletter for more details.

Holiday Clubs

During the Easter holiday we run the MAD (Making a Difference) Project with funding from Kent Children’s Fund. The MAD Project consists of outreach sessions with 5 - 13 year olds. We often run activity sessions for children aged 5 - 11 years in addition to the MAD Project. Please see the Forthcoming Events/Diary webpage or our monthly Newsletter for more details.

Christian Fellowship & Worship

We aim to provide opportunities for local people to experience Christian worship and to encounter God for themselves. We do this in a variety of ways.

Please see the Church@Cross-Links or Forthcoming Events/Diary webpages or our monthly Newsletter for more details.

As a Team we meet regularly to pray for the local community and would welcome any special requests you might have.

We are always happy to discuss any matter of faith – just ask!
